About Me

Some relevant information. All you really need to know is that Top Gun is my favorite movie.

If I'm not working, I'm working on my own projects and ideas. From apps, sites, gata projects, and my own start-up ideas.

Brief Summary

The profile/portfolio is under construction.

I'm not a front end master. I'm learning and I'll ALWAYS be learning. I eventually want to expand my skills to cover the Full Stack of web dev. I feel that at the rate technology changes today, it applies to everyone, perpetual learning, no matter what your field. Some of my specializations of varying skill are:
  • HTML
  • CSS (Bootstrap - Responsive - Mobile First)
  • JS (Jquery - React - node.js)
  • MERN Stack
  • SEO
  • VCS (git/github)
  • Amazon Web Services

I'm always willing and eager to learn something new or sharpen an area I'm already invested in to some degree.

This is a field I'm really excited about. Right now it's filled with a lot of big words like machine learning, probabilty theory, monte carlo, regression, classification, clustering, overfitting, etc. Basically what I want to do is take a bunch of data, relevent to a domain, and give you a prediction based on that data. Predicative Analytics. I should start a blog... Time is a precious commodity. Here are some of the tools and tech im working with:
  • Python
  • Pandas (scikit, etc.)
  • Excel (Visual, for now)
It's a dream. Maybe not that far off. The beauty of being an engineer/dev is it allows for low margins and capital. If I can afford to pay for my coffee and my laptop is working, I'm good to go.

Skills

Soft Skills

Any computer scientist, engineer, developer, etc., knows he or she has to have the technical ability in his/her field to excel. What about explaining how this stuff works to a non-nerd or geek (I don't take offense to the adjective). I pride myself on having the great ability to explain these arcane practices. Like Han Solo undestanding Chewy, we get each other.

HTML

Isn't that that thing we edited our MySpace with? Manipulating the DOM. Sounds wrong

CSS

Because It has to be pretty. I really enjoy Twitter's bootstrap framework. It's where I concentrate most of my caffeine supplied energy.

JS

You say "class", I say "constructor". I believe personally, it's the future of all application dev, JS that is. Browsers are everywhere. Your computer, tv, phone, wrist, and soon, I bet, even your fridge. Some are saying Dart, some say Scala, others coffeescript and typescript. I'll stick to Js. Modular and asynchronus of course.

Jquery and Angular + React

Libaries and frameworks that make life easier. Nothing beats knowing vanilla code, but using solutions to problems other people have solved already, works for me.

Data Science

This is where I want to end up. I'm interested in the field of Predicative Analytics. When I read Moneyball by Michael Lewis(my fave author, George R. Martin is close 2nd) and later watched the movie, it really stuck with me. Stats in Sports have always been a love of mine.

Wordpress

Content Management Systems are popular. So I chose to learn a little Wordpress.

Extras

Git and Github, must haves. Python and django are on my lists, beacuse who doesn't like playing with cool data ?U nderstanding a popular OOP is a great way practice good CS. .

Looking for an Open Source project.

Portfolio

So here's where I put all the really cool stuff.
Just a disclaimer: It's UNDER CONSTRUCTION
